The Island

So when we went to look at the house, the first thing I complained about noticed was that there wasn't any where near enough counter space or storage. Tyler, the handyman, said this was no problem that he would happily build me a new island to store my appliances and other nik-naks in. Well, boy does he know how to deliver! Check out this awesome new addition to our home!

Started out as --

Adjusting to fit the room correctly.

Adding the supports for the breakfast bar.

Room Shot

We have electricity! Two outlets with full power AND USB ports! Highly recommend:

After much debate about what to do for the corner, we decided on the point. So glad we did!

Siding

Row by row, piece by piece!

Decorative trim being added.

Adding some decorative supports

And..... she's done!

Tyler did an amazing job! I'm beyond impressed.

Now on to the next adventure!

New Town Eats

Any time you go to a new town, one of the best things to do is try all the new food! This was one of the things I had looked forward to the most when I found out we were moving to Morganton.

Early in the month before we moved, we came down to tour the house, for the second time, with my parents. Dad had heard about this place called Judge's Bar-B-Que. Well we had sometime to kill and decided to try it out. It was pretty good and it is right on the river so it was beautiful, too! The history behind this place is pretty neat. You can find it on their website here: Judge's BBQ

Once we got moved in on Friday/Saturday, we decided to take Sunday to explore a little bit and try another new restaurant. We found Hwy 55 when we were out looking for necessities (Wal-Mart, Lowes, etc.)

Very yummy, cute diner that had a welcoming feel. From there we walked down the little strip mall to Di'lishe for some frozen yogurt. OH MY GOODNESS. The Granny Smith Apple was INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend this place.
